Foundations Supporting Chicago Youth

Union League Boys & Girls Clubs

For over 100 years, the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs have served the after-school development needs of Chicago’s disadvantaged youth. Today, ULBGC provides programming centered on academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles to over 15,000 youth from the Chicago neighborhoods of Pilsen, Humboldt Park, the Near West Side, Englewood, Bucktown, and South Lawndale and we are opening 7 new school-based Club sites this year. Each summer, thousands of Club members venture to Salem, Wisconsin for a fun- and education-filled time at our 247-acre residential summer camp. For more information, visit www.ulbgc.org.

Supporting Our Armed Forces

The men and women who serve our country put their lives on the line so we can enjoy the freedoms of America.
We believe in supporting these heroes and their families.

Our military support organizations focus on not only those currently serving and those who have previously served, but also the families that always play a major role in a person’s military career. Our Chicago 502, which supports the soldiers and families of the Army’s 502nd Infantry Regiment/101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), 721 Club and 786 Club, which support the crew and families of the USS Chicago (SSN-721) and the USS Illinois (SSN-786), two U.S. Navy submarines and American Legion Post 758 are all essential to our mission.

The Union League Club also sponsors the Commissioning Committee for the USS HYMAN G. RICKOVER (SSN-795), which is a nuclear submarine under construction. The Committee’s mission is to organize the commissioning ceremony and accompanying celebrations when the USS RICKOVER becomes a member of the active fleet of the U.S. Navy, currently expected to occur in late 2021. Taking Public Action

At the forefront of our ongoing commitment to community and country is our Public Affairs Committee (PAC). The PAC and its various subcommittees address a wide range of public policy issues, sponsor programs on current affairs with prominent speakers and serve as the conduit for the Club’s involvement in civic affairs.
